NHL Season Starts!

After the long awaited CBA talking session, NHL season starts at Saturday, January 19, 2013. My Tampa Bay Lightning won the season (and home) opener 6-3 against the Washington Capitals. I’m very happy and excited about it.

Looking at the new additions, I am thrilled to see how this season develops. We made several new acquisitions during the summer and the lockout. New goalkeeper (Lindb├Ąck), defence (Carle, Salo), rookies (Conacher) among others. With the core team of Lecavalier, St. Louis, Stamkos, Purcell, and Hedman still intact, I hope this year will see our Lightning come back to the playoffs.

NHL: No Hockey League?

Another sport I watch is NHL. While I was silent about this sport ever since I start writing this blog, but I watch this game a lot since 1998-ish. Reasons why I did not post too much was because I started writing during the 2012 playoffs, which my Lightning didn’t make it. After that it’s the summer break and the lockout.

I am getting a little tired here about the negotiations between NHL and NHLPA. Why can’t they just stop each other’s stubbornness and agree on something to start the hockey league. I believe millions of fans, including me, are eager to see our teams start hitting the ice. Especially after the break, because there are a lot of players coming in and out.

Anyways, I just hope that this will not be the 2004-05 all over again. Go Bolts!
